Kulti MLA Dr Ajoy Poddar had to face go back slogans when he went to the agitation site in Baltaria area regarding land acquisition of eastern dedicated freight corridor project of the Indian Railways.
Since morning today, hundreds of local people gathered at the site protesting against the land acquisition work for the railways dedicated freight corridor project and sought rehabilitation first.

Hearing the news, the local BJP MLA Dr Ajoy Poddar rushed to the site, but the protestors chanted go back slogans and pushed him back.
Member of mayor in-council (MMIC) of Asansol Municipal Corporation (AMC), Indrani Mishra said that about 2,000 people live in the railway area for over 50 years. Suddenly, their lands have been acquired. Where will they go now?
She urged the railways to consider their demand of rehabilitation in this winter season on humanitarian grounds.
As the tension escalated, jawans of Railway Protection Force (RPF) rushed to the site and dispersed both the two rival groups.
The Ludhiana to Dankuni dedicated eastern freight corridor construction work is now reaching the Asansol division of Eastern Railway.
So far, no comments from neither the district administration nor the railway authorities have been available on this issue.
